Founder Spotlight Dr. Iden Kurtaliaj

In 2022, PythonFix led by Dr. Iden Kurtaliaj won $25,000 and incubation support in Columbia’s Startup Columbia Technology Challenge, validating strong market interest. PythonFix is now in advanced testing to meet FDA 510(k) requirements, with a planned Pre-Submission meeting to refine the path to clinical trials.

Millard Chan ’99 Technology Challenge

The Millard Chan ’99 Technology Challenge is part of Startup Columbia, a series of campus-wide startup competitions offering non-dilutive cash prizes to the winning teams. The  track invites entries for business models based on a solid foundation of applied, solution-focused, technological innovation. Submissions for this track focus on product development, innovative design, and “builder” technologies including data analytics, biomedical solutions, software, or hardware. As always, cross-disciplinary teams are strongly encouraged. The challenge is open to all Columbia University students and recent alumni (five years or less from their most recent degree). Teams must have one Columbia Engineering founder member (recent alumni or student). Teams may only enter one challenge per year.
