Columbia Venture Competition 2020

The Columbia Venture Competition’s first deadline is February 14th at 11:59pm. You will need to choose a track and submit an executive summary.  We have $250,000 in our prize pool!

Urban Works India: For students and alumni who have graduated in the past 5 years and want to work on solutions for urban India. Urban Works India is a brand new track in the competition, with teams based in India and the US. Columbia students and graduates are welcome and teams can be based in either country. The winning team will collect the prize in Rupees in India (35 lakhs prize pool for the track). (more here)

  • What is the time commitment required from participants?
    Participants will be required to commit a three-month period from May 2020. It is important for them to participate in all the training sessions, workshops, public programs, and networking sessions based in India.
  • Does this challenge give preference to certain types of solutions?
    Yes, the challenge would prefer app-based solutions that can demonstrate a scalable technology, applicable to urban India.
