Imran Shah BS'84, MS'86, PhD'94

 

Dr. Imran Shah is an MD and the Global Lead of Accenture’s Network and Connected Services Practice that helps clients across the world unleash next-generation products, service and transform their businesses by leveraging technologies like 5G, software-defined networking (SDN), network function virtualization (NFV), Edge Computing, IP Video and Media Cloud. 

Previously, Imran was the co-founder of IBB Consulting Group, a premiere consulting firm for wireless and mobility, media and cable companies. In 2017, he led the successful acquisition of IBB Consulting by Accenture. 

An acclaimed specialist and thought leader in convergence strategies and technology, Imran has led some of the Media and Telecom industry’s most significant and transformative initiatives. This includes supporting more than $200 billion in cable merger and acquisitions, transforming scores of entertainment business models and associated infrastructures, and launching new growth businesses for clients. As a sought-after consultant and industry advisor, Imran works with senior management at leading companies that include Charter, Comcast NBCUniversal, Cox, Rogers and Verizon.

Under Imran’s leadership, IBB Consulting Group achieved consistent annual growth that saw the firm develop expertise and capabilities in the Media and Telecom Industry’s most important existing and emerging focus areas. IBB has been award Consulting Magazine’s Best Consulting Firms to Work For six times, including four years in a row prior to the Accenture acquisition. 

Imran holds a BS, MS and Ph.D in electrical engineering from Columbia University, along with 15 patents. He has been recognized as a Top 25 Consultant by Consulting Magazine, and has been honored in the Asian American Business Development Center’s Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business and Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award programs. Imran serves on the Columbia Engineering School’s Board of Visitors and the Entrepreneurship Advisory Board.
