Frank A. Y. Wang '96 BS, MS

 

In 2011, Frank founded Athena Capital Management focusing on “under-valued” public company investments in Taiwan (the first dedicated Taiwan country focus hedge fund in Taiwan).Post Columbia, Frank started his career as Financial Analyst at Goldman Sachs on Wall Street in 1996. His team was voted by Greenwich survey as America’s best Technology Investment Research team. In 1999, Frank joined Citigroup Global Assets Management and started Asian Technology investment research. In 2000, Frank returned to Taiwan and helped to start a venture capital firm Grand Capital Group. In 2002, Frank re-joined the investment bank and worked for Credit Suisse and Morgan Stanley (2004) as an Executive Director. Frank and his team was voted by Institutional Investor survey as top Taiwan Strategist, Semiconductor, and Software Analyst in Asia.

Frank completed both BS degree in Electrical Engineering and MS degree in Operations Research from Columbia University in four years (1996). During school, Frank was passionate in serving the community; he was elected as Class President, University Senator, and President of Kandel Student Alumni Association. Since 2000, Frank has been on Columbia Alumni Representative Committee; and is a Board Director on Columbia Alumni Association in Taiwan. Frank is also active in educational field include being a Board Director of Taipei American School.
